Robert Hood, 30, of Phoenix, Arizona, was convicted of 11 felony counts, including child sex trafficking, conspiracy, money laundering and sexual exploitation of a minor. Hood collected the victim’s prostitution money for his own benefit and recorded her in a sexually exploitative manner to maintain control over her.
Deandre James, 43, of Phoenix, Arizona, had been found guilty last month on 19 counts, including sexual conduct with a minor and child sex trafficking. James convinced a 15-year-old girl to work as a prostitute for him in 2015 and split the money with her. He also had sex with the girl and gave her drugs.
“We had a 30 percent turnover rate in the first month,” Brian says. “Some we attributed to addiction, some to trauma bond [with former captors]. There are constantly things pulling them back into that life.”
Felipe Pina, 28 of Mesa, AZ. is facing six counts related to child prostitution, according to court documents. Those counts include permitting a minor in his custody to engage in prostitution, receiving a benefit for placing a minor in the custody of someone for prostitution and transporting a minor for the purpose of prostitution. The boys he had contact with were between the ages of 11-15 yrs. old.
Charles Lamont Patton 37, was arrested after police said he had sex with a 17-year-old runaway and let her become a prostitute.
